First time for me in seeing The Whispers and damn! It won't be the last. What a blowout show at The Spirit Mountain Casino in Oregon. Holy moly, these guys are unreal ... already knew that, but they are absolutely fabulous in concert. The show opened with "And the Beat Goes On" and I looked at my friend and said, "Holy sh-t -- it's on!" Thought I might have to wait for that tune, but it cranked things up in a hurry. Lots of awesome ballads, "Lady," "Butta" (from the new album"), "Welcome Into My Dream," "Olivia," and various others. The rotating lyrics of Scotty and Walter were fabulous, Leaveil is a great dancer. Nicholas is coming out of a cast with a broken foot, but sat in a chair and sang and performed great. The band was awesome, and they let the keyboardist/conductor come up and start "Welcome Into My Dream" as he wrote it, and Walter finished it. The band guys would come up and dance a bit ... all for one, one for all, no egos dominating the stage, that's why they've been together so long. Closed with "It's a Love Thing" and "Rock Steady" -- the place was going nuts. Only an hour-long show because it was a twin-bill with Jeffery Osborne, who still has a great voice. I'm more into his L.T.D. stuff than his solo stuff, and he delivered big time there, particularly with the show closer, "Back in Love Again." Tons of people, a great show ... a few empty seats in front of me had me thinking I wish Colton Thomas could've made it. It was awesome! I'd like to see the group again, but hopefully not on a doubleheader as that forces the playlist to get cut down. Nevertheless, WOW! Just an unreal show, lots of fun! |

Tsull Glad to hear that you enjoyed The Whispers. What you saw with Nicholas was a torn Achilles tendon. It happened here at Westbury, aka. North Fork. The craziest thing about it is that he had completed the show. The injury seemed to occur as he was leaving the stage, heading up the ramp. I know that it's hard for Nick to just sit there, but it feels good just seeing him there. I'm really glad to hear that you had a great time. I had every confidence that you would ; ) |

Good info, torn achilles are bad injuries. Nick contributed well from his chair, Scotty mentioned he'll be up and ready soon. Phenomenal show, only complaints were The Whispers weren't on long enough and the sound dude had the band volume too high and the singer's mic's too low. That's just nit-picking, however. Unreal performance, I'd see them again in a heartbeat. Thanks Juice! |

tsull saw the same show @ 4 years ago in Philly but Jeffrey Osborne opened instead of the other way around. It was a great show, btw. |

Jeffrey Osborne was the opener, no way he caps that concert. Not trying to offend, but The Whispers were the headliner. Sorry for the confusion. |
