Is it the original recordings or Helen, Valerie, and Cynthia's voices? |

I've been trying to get the 12" of "This Is The House" on CD for years. Anyone ever found it? |

The Runner cover is terrible, they have just sung over a backing track which brings nothing new to the table, if I were you, stick with the original 12" version from our girls, and as far as I know This Is The House 12" version has never made it to CD (unlike Heaven I Need which has) |

A suggestion: Hello Three Degrees fans all over the world. Don't we all think it's time for a new (double) CD from the Three Degrees? The ladies are legendary, the longest running female vocal group and one of the best in history!! I respect the way how they keep the magic alive; they still look great and glamourous and they still sound so good. I suggest a double CD; CD one with studio recordings (tribute to the Philly sound?) en CD two recorded live (for instance recorded live during there forthcoming tour in Japan?). Please your reaction fans all over the world. Robert |

Yes Gino, you are right! strange question... the Degrees are respected all over the world , they did the 70 soul jam sessions on the west coast and Honolulu...last year and the response was marvelous.. they were not at the Kimmel center, they had nothing to do with not being there! ask the promoter! we love you Valerie, Helen and Cindy.. forgot to mention, they got the BEMA award in Philadelphia in November 2007. so Man of Music...spread the news! JP from Belgium. |

I found this: a Detroit Hip-Hop producer/rapper called J. Dilla aka Jay Dee (r.i.p.) used a sample of Maybe in 2006. Info wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D onuts_EP:_J._Rocc's_Picks |

(Who asked about Respect ??!...) From Israel: Offer Nissim is a legend in Israel and his remixes are outstanding. On this double cd some big names. The remix of One Night Only (Dreamgirls) sung by Beyoncé with a sample of Dirty Old Man of The Three Degrees is to die for. http://djalexlee.blogspot.com/ 2007/07/offer-nissim-forever-t el-aviv.html |

I confess I always considered Fayette Pinkney as the Degrees' "Flo Ballard", being the first to leave the group after their biggest (PI and Epic) hits, and Helen Scott the the "Susaye Green" of the group, being the first "newcomer" besides Valerie Holiday and Sheila Ferguson. Of course it's because I didn't know of the excistance of the group before their PI years.. Not knowing any better, back then... The Three Degrees now are Valerie Holiday, Helen Scott and Cynthia Garrison. Surprise, surprise ... Helen was one of the original girls during their early Swan years! Now I have to review my prejudice regarding her being the "Susaye Green" of the group... I also remember Mary Wilson giving an outrageous comment in an article or TV-show (must have been in 1973 or '74), that the TD's shouldn't be recognized as Best or No. 1 Girl Group, because "they only had one No. 1 hit". A remark I found very unwise of Mary at the time and I still do. Understandable in hindsight, cause in that time frame Mary found her Supremes dissolving for several reasons, changing members too often probably being one of the main ones. But unwise, nevertheless, because the remark was being worldwide interpreted as sheer jealousy. Ironically, The 70's Supremes used Everybody Gets to Go To The Moon as part of their act for years! Furthermore, Giving Up, Giving In ánd The Runner were fair to big hits in several European countries, including Holland! |
