Two great appearances by the Girls on BBC TV last night. Firstly, a familiar clip from Top of the Pops Christmas Special 1974 shown to celebrate the final ever show of that iconic British music programme - and then followed by a retrospect of the same Show with a great clip from August 1974 when the Ladies were No.1 in the Charts with When Will I See You Again filmed during the Osmonds week-long residency as hosts of the Show! Total class and glamour - it doesn't get any better than this!!!

Supremesoul - both ladies had their own reasons for leaving; perhaps this isnt't the place to discuss these things but let me just say that Fayette is doing extremely well in Philadelphia and Sheila has been living here in England for many years and seems very happy too!

I saw and spoke with Helene, Monday back-stage at The Dell in Philadelphia, at The Whispers and Russell Thompkins & The New Stylistics Show.
Helene was aware of Mr. Barrette's poor health condition. We also spoke briefly about the radio show interview in the very near future and Vocal Group Hall Of Fame.
I hope to speak again to Helene when she returns from Japan. Will up-date you all about the radio show interview after we set-up a date to do so. |

I remember when Richard Barrett would introduce Fayette, Sheila and Valerie.." The Whispering Angels of Song...the Pride of Philadelphia..." ; his genius was also the Pride of Philadelphia and now he can sit with more Angels of Song - RIP to a true musical legend and to the man who gave us a Group that to this day enchants and entertains us - that is some legacy!

H.I.M - nice pic from '75 there - and a great choice of song too! For me, its a combination of my 2 musical greats - the Girls and Billy Joel, who I recently saw in concert in London after waiting nearly 30 years - and believe me, it was worth the wait...the man is awesome!!! As you know, there is a thread trying to get unreleased PIR stuff out...maybe CBS/Sony would be interested in doing an unreleased compilation of Three Degrees material, including the Japanese tracks a few of us already have - any ideas???

Hello guys in Europe, I've seen the 3 Degrees shows this week, which were so fabulous and cool as ever. I will go to see other lives in Tokyo next week.
In these two years they sang four kinds of long medleys (Diva, Marvin Gaye, EW&F and Philly medley) in turn here. It was "Philly" that they did on this tour.
They sometimes perform a short medley on Ariola, consists of "My Simple Heart","Giving Up, Giving In" and "The Runner". They did it this time too, but they cut out "The Runner" from the Ariola medley. "The Runner" became a little longer and had intense steps.
Helen always teaches us the choreography before they sing "WWISYA". All the people in the hall enjoy it, waving his right hand first(Wooo...) and left hand(haaa...). I like it. You do the same over there? |

look out for an album with plenty of international atrists...being released in Holland....with the Dolf de Vries Orchestra...the Degrees sing a jazzy version of Dirty ol' Man...
i've heard that it's a wonderfull version.and the release will be in October.

wonderfull that's all i can say about the ' be my baby' documentary....i liked the Supremes and Three Degrees story very much, and have you seen how goodlooking these women still are...Seeing Valerie and Sheila in the interview, brougt back the memories we have of the Three Degrees...can't help it! but it would have been wonderfull to see Helen and Fayette also doing their thing! after all they were there in the beginning.
I loved the way they presented the Degrees and the video footage they showed...

Loved seeing the Girls on British TV last night - great interviews, wonderful clips and stills - and beautiful women!!! I did miss hearing from Fayette and Helen too...sometimes the research into these programmes is not as good as it could be, especially as the BBC went over to Philly to speak to Bobby Eli. One fault though, amongst many pluses!!!

It never changes, that main page photo is about 10 years old, there is never no news, the only page that gets an update is the tour page and its always Holland, Japan, Germany or some other far away destination, whoever the web master is, is obviously the wrong person to do the job, now by no means am I blaming the girls as I know what a hectic schedule they have while touring, but you look at any pop groups web page and it updates regularly, maybe Im just bored at looking at the same page. |

was informed that the project will be released a little later...by the way the THREE DEGREES were the guests at the premiere after party of a new Musical in Holland..."THE WIZ"
they did a mini concert and there were some beautifull photos in the Dutch press..they sang also

Oh yezzz, I forgot: a fabu live performance from their tour in 1977 in Japan: the medley contains two songs. a) People With Feelings (a song song from their LP Standing Up For Love b) Feelings (orig. from Morris Albert, a classic song. In between you can see a beautiful slideshow with different pictures of the ladies during that time. NICE ! Many thanks for the Japanese guy who made that available !

I have it on 12" with two mixes that were not on the CD "Classic Piano Mix" and "Bass And Pad Mix" shame the album it came from did not get released in the UK and it should have done more, but hey it never got the chance it deserved (and we know why) |

does anyone has photos of the Degrees with Helen, it was a photoshoot taken late 76 early 77..in those black..pink feather gowns!
there were photos taken also with the same gown when Fayette was in the group!
i'm sure there were with Helen too, as one of them was used in the booklet of the cd" from philly with love"

Those pictures were from a CBS photo session, done at the same time as the "Standing Up For Love" pictures. As far as I know, they were transparencies, not photographs...thats why they are so hard to come by!! Some of them were used on the TV Show "Saturday Scene", over here - when the girls did an interview in April 1977. If anyone does have them, it would be nice to see them again, but I believe the originals would be with CBS/Sony, if they still exist of course! You are right - they were same dresses as Faye had!!!
