Have you ever seen the song the ladies did in the French Connection I (1971)? Go to www.emgee.name and have fun !
Soon available : "my simple heart" from 1980. With a lot of hearts...hehe, a laaate Valentine surprise.

I have the intention to make a section for fans : only pictures with the ladies together with their fans. Who wants to send me their photos with the ladies, with some comments ??? If I have 10 pic's I will make the page available. eMail: ginomons@skynet.be

the Royal Albert Hall concert was called " an evening with the three degrees" it was them with the Royal PhilhaRmonic Orchestra, it was a 2h30 min concert.
the TV screening was about 50-55 minutes...songes included on tv were
A BRAND NEW DAY
IF MY FRIENDS COULD SEE ME NOW
STARDUST
JUMP THE GUN
YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE
I'LL NEVER LOVE THIS WAY AGAIN
REDLIGHT
WOMAN IN LOVE
GIVING UP GIVING IN
STARLIGHT
BEATLES MEDLEY
WE ARE FAMILY
WHEN WILL I SEE YOU AGAIN.
that's what was on tv.
but during that night they did many foreign languages..
in Spanish they did
SOMOS NOVIOS
GUANTANAMERA
in French they did
QUE C'EST TRISTE VENISE
CHANSON POPULAIRE
in Swahali they did
IPI N TOMBIA
in Japanese they did
NIGAY NAMIDA
WHEN WILL I SEE YOU AGAIN
and so many others, like the Philly hits..each did a solo song...
this was a magical evening...and one i will never forget.

Hi Guys,

Is anyone out there 'old' enought to remember if the Three Degrees performed at the Silvesterparty in Germany 1978. The show should have been broadcasted on German TV on New years Eve 1978?? Someone offered me to sell me a tape of that show. But if my memory is ok, the 3 Degrees cancelled because one of them was sick. Who can help me out?

Tonight, I played "I Didn't Know" on the radio show and dedicated it to Jeremy. I foregot to mention Jay's daughter. Next week I will be playing more material recorded by The Three Degrees. We are going to continue so up until the interview. Next week we will do a double play on The Three Degrees for sure.
Tonight we had a unexpected guest. Plus, calls from a (CEO) of a RECORDING COMPANY from Memphis Tenn.
We never know who's going to call in.
Soon after I receive Jay's next package in the mail, I will start to make contact with Helene, to make arrangements for a radio interview.
It's going to be a fun and exciting show and night. I may be having a "SURPRISE". THREE DEGREES fans I am going to need your support for a special project. I know how much you all "LOVE" The Three Degrees.....I need a few days to post and explain what it is........Does this sounds exciting?

Gino....the radio show and interview with The Three Degrees, will be able to be heard world-wide via internet. We might just open up a chat-room for fans around the world to hear....
This week I will try to contact the (CEO) of this ?? and speak with him to inquire about a couple of things before I let the cat out of the bag "OK"....He's a good guy....we have a very good understanding and respect for one another. After speaking and talking with him about this matter, then I will know the best way for us to go about doing this "PROJECT"..."OK"
I am going to mainly be in contact and following up with Jay. World-wide support will be just terriffic....Does this sound even more interesting and exciting????? or "WHAT"???????
I post something about this on "HOT" PHILLY/MOTOWN/RECORDING/SESSIO N/thread...That thread is filled at this moment due to so many postings, another page are being added.....The "PRESIDENT" of The Three Degrees fan club out of Japan contact me today via e-mail.
When we start this "PROJECT" and really get this thing going on, let's all have us some "BIG" fun all doing this this thing as a team and all together "OK", "OK"... As I meantion on the "PHILLY/MOTOWN thread, if we should win and I feel we will be "VICTORIOUS". It's going to be a "BIG/CELEBRATION" and "PARTY" and some more "THREE DEGREES" 'HISTORY' being made.I'll post back in a couple of days after I speak with my "BIG" contact person....
OH!..... As I meantioned before, soon as I receive my next package in the mail from Jay, I begin to contact Helene to make radio interview arragements "OK"??????

Is their a track listing. Where did you get the artwork from? Any liner notes? I wonder if Sony BMG will begin to compile the PIR material with the Ariola Material being that Ariola is BMG and Sony owns the PIR material..It would be good to put them together as an official release since Sony and BMG have merged

Hi Guys,

Just received a 'DJ Only' Remix of Year of Decision. I found it on the internet last week. I didn't know it existed. They used the original '73 version, remixed with a very up to date beat. Absolutely not bad at all.

Oh yes..and here it is..and its damn exciting too!

How would we all love the Ladies, that's past members and current members too, to be inducted into the world famous Vocal Group Hall of Fame? This is what it's all about! But its not a 5 minute thing..so listen up..

Take a note of this website;

www.vghf.org

Find Mr Bob Crosby's name at the bottom of the homepage and email him, asking for our Ladies' name to be put forward for induction! You all know what to do..give your reasons why they should receive this honour...really make an effort to do this well...the Group deserve it and we can make it happen! This year's inductions have been completed but its not too early to recommend for the next batch...so get mailing now!

LC will keep us all informed of progress and I will post on the Group website for all friends and fans to do this! This is history-making stuff people..if you want to be a part of it get mailing now...well done everyone!!!

Last night at recording session the staff mixing on these ladies were more than awesome....Their harmony is so amazing. Unsure what it is about their voices and sound but one thing for sure it's very, very tight....I am running again late for work...I'll try and post some up-date on this thread here and on Philly/Motown thread before going to the recording sudio this evening.

What meant was I want to send some information to Japan and up-date them first before you post about your reply letter to the fans here on S/D thread. ...That way no one will feel offended and we will be on the same page...Just showing them some respect. That's all...I have to run.

Jay...I've just sent an e-mail to Japan. So, you can now start posting and doing your thing and getting the fans and S/D members to send in their e-mail letters or mailing letters direct Vocal Group Hall Of Fame addressed to Induction Committee, Greg Loescher.

Do not foreget to post the three requirements:

1- Twenty years in the business,

2- Must do three part harmony,

3- Must have a hit recored that charted

Thanks for everything..."Let's Get it On" and have some fun making history.
The Three Degrees deserve it, they will love it and very much appreciate it.
I will try at calling Helene tomorrow evening and explain to here what we are doing and speak with her about doing the radio show.

Oh!....Remember to post Vocal Group Of Fame web-site address for all to be able to send in their e-mail letters or send directly. Remind everyone to write a little history about the group in their letters.

Do you remember when the ladies sang : We're all alone ? Yezzz, 1977, from the LP "Standing Up For Love". What a classic song. WOW.
You'll find it @ www.3degreesfootage.be, ofcours 'live' ! I hope you like it...
Question: does anybody know if other videos are available of the LP ? Standing Up For Love (promotion) ??? OR What I Did For Love ? OR... ??? Should be great to let the world see...

Jay, I meant to type..that postage price was no joke....the price of that mailing was not cheap and still it's taking such a long time to arrive. Amagine, not mailing it first class, how much additional longer you'd have to still be waiting. If you do not receive it by this weekend, I'll do a follow-up search at the post-office on this end.

Gino - well done again! I haven't seen that clip in full for many years! I remember when it was first transmitted..I was working Saturdays in a London store so I missed it as it was shown in the morning but I went to their hotel in my lunchbreak...the girls were sleeping but I found my dad outside the hotel in his taxi talking to Mr Richard Barrett! Memories! Its great to have this now...Helen's first tour and all that tickertape that kept getting stuck to their mouths and faces...LOL! Goed gedaan mijn vriend! J x

I found this in the forum :

"Gamble and Huff are featured on the latest BBC Radio 2 'Sold On Song' special. The shows airs this Saturday, 17th June from 9-10pm UK time. The show was recorded in front of an invited audience. Kenny and Leon will talk about the songs they wrote. Sheila Ferguson sings some of them. Sounds like a must-listen! Don't forget that wherever you are, if you can't listen live, the BBC puts its shows up to be played on-line for seven days after transmission."

New Dimensions and 3D haven't been released on CD. However sometimes you can find an Russian release with the songs of both albums on it. But they used the single-edits. I put both albums on Cd myself. And with a bit of editting it sounds great. Send me a message if ur interested (milpol2@chello.nl)

Going back to 1973... Do you remember the Sanford and son episode with the ladies ? For those who never saw it or want to see it again, I made a little compilation. "I didn't know" they sang to Fred. It's so funny.

I remember when The Three Degrees first released their hit single "When Will I See You Again", the "DJ" on the radio station said he thought the lead singer of Three Degrees singing voice was identical to The Supremes Diana Ross, of course I never could agree with that remark, Diana Ross has a unique soprano singing voice, when Diana uses her unique soprano that is, sometimes she is singing a high-alto not soprano.

he, Supreme3, i like Diana Ross, have even seen a few concerts , but i have to say that Sheila Ferguson who is singing the lead on When Will I See You Again...a far more stronger voice has than Diana...as my personal opinion , i can say that some of the Supreme girls better voices have than Diana....of course she's a diva and she has a charisma, but when it comes to voices give me Jean Terrell, Cindy Birdsong, Sherrie Payne and Lynda Laurence.
sorry, but that's how i see it.
in the Degrees, Valerie has the soul voice, Cindy the deep jazzy voice, Helen is a Soprano, and Sheila has a strong commercial voice.
enjoy your day...a note from Italy!

Tom ; Tales Are True has Fayette on lead vocals; she was on all of the Swan recordings with a number of other ladies, notably Helen Scott who still sings with the Group (she actually took Fayette's place when she left in 1976 but had sung with her about 10 years earlier) and of course Sheila Ferguson, who even sang backing vocals for them before she had even joined in 1966! I will ask Fayette where they were recorded; are you miximg the tracks for a new CD..that would be awesome!!!

Tom - with regards to your excellent "Philadelphia Classics" album, a friend of mine has asked if you used the Three Degrees' vocals on "Love is the Message" for the extra vocal remix, or were they session singers? I personally am sure that it is The Three Degrees through the entire tune, but perhaps you can help!

I used all the vocals of the Three Degrees on Love Is The Message. If they sang I used them.
