yes Emanuel has passed, he was found this morning in his apartment. I did not know anything until looking at Roy's post above about 15 minutes ago so I just talked to Frank Garcia president of the Musicial Historial Society Of Detroit that Emanuel Laskey was also a co-founder of as well, Frank Garcia is also a current member of The Falcons but due to illness did not make the trip to the U.K.. Emanuel did have cancer of the larnex and had been receiving treatment for that, as of right now I have no other details but will have more to post tomorrow afternoon. for my friend Emanuel Laskey who was a superb recording artist and there is a difference in a singer and a "recording artist" and Emanuel was a true artist may he now R.I.P. | ||

Emmanuel Laskey...I remember the first time I heard his recording of "CRAZY", it almost sounded like a church song until I head the lyrics. I hope his transition was peaceful. This is very sad news. As soon as I saw this posting I called my pal Joey Kingfish, who worked with Emanuel at Thelma records, to break the bad news to him. I guess that Frankie Garcia had just called him to let him know about the passing of Emanuel. Kingfish seemed quite down about this. May he rest in peace. | ||
